We had a wonderful time attending the 2017 meeting at the Sandestin Grand at Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin, FL. The venue was great and everything was well organized. Looking forward to being back for the 2018 meeting at Amelia Isaland.
It has been a good growing and selling year. Our seedlings are doing their final root growth before getting ready for havest in late November. We have had good moisture all year and if it remains steady we should have a good planting season as well. Too much rain last year caused the planting to be put off until mid winter.
We are sold out of seedlings this year and it hurts to tell the good folks who call late that we can’t help them this year. Please make plans now and get your order in early next year. We will start taking orders in January 2018 until we are sold out. Give us a call!

No one likes to hear bad news but here it comes. We have sold out of container grown longleaf pine seedlings for this year. Last year caught many folks were caught off guard when all the container longleaf nurseries sold out of seedlings. We had calls up until the end but unfortunaly we could not sell what we did not have. This year, anticipating a shortage, calls starting coming in March and our seedlings were quickly booked up. Again, we wish we had more. If you did not get the seedling you needed, here is the good news.
We will be starting all over come March 1 of 2018. We are ordering seed now and making plans for our next crop. We expect another good year so please get your order in early. We will actually start taking orders this fall so there is no need to wait.
We want to thank all our loyal and new customers for helping us sell out two years in a row. We look forward to serving your longleaf planting needs for many years to come!

Last sales season went quickly! With the dry weather in November and December, everyone was waiting to take delivery of their seedlings. But when the rains came in January we had to do some fast moves to get all the orders processed when requested. But we made it! The only problem we had is too few seedlings! We fulfilled all our commitments but had many calls from folks looking for seedlings that did not book early.
Our seedling crop looks very good this year. We finished seeding and all have sprouted and it looks like our germ rate is fairly high. Please call us today and do not delay. It looks like demand will be high again this year so don’t be left struggling to find seedlings this fall.

I (Greg) just returned from beautiful Orange Beach, AL where I represented the nursery at the Alabama Forestry Association’s annual meeting. It was a great time to meet new people and to get the word out about our quality pine seedlings. From the resort staff to the food in the restaurants, everything was great! This is a wonderful place to visit and hopefully I can get back for a non-working vacation! The fine folks at the AFA did a fantastic job of planing and putting this year’s meeting together. We look forward to next year!
We are only about a month away from the start of our seedling harvest and it has been a good year so far. We have sold out all of our seedlings and only hope you have already secured yours. Please note that we require a contract from every customer to hold seedlings. If you missed out, please get your order in early next year. We try to anticipate what the market will be by talking to you, our customers, and listening to those who administer the programs that help you plant long leaf. Our goal to to have enough seedlings to meet your needs without have any left over. Any seedlings we have to discard just drives the cost up and we do our best to cut cost the everywhere we can so we do not have to raise prices.
Give us a call. We would love to hear from you!

We have wrapped up another good season for our longleaf pine seedlings at Whitfield Farms. The weather has been very good for planting since January. We are needing some rain here in middle Georgia to wet the ground and wash away some of the pollen that is covering everything! The warm weather has caused every tree and plant to bloom all at the same time!
This week we are preparing our trays so we can begin seedling. It is a yearly exercise but well worth the effort when the seedling start sprouting and growing.
We are already taking orders for this fall crop so please contact us as soon as possible. We would hate to run out and you have to look elsewhere and end up with a lower quality seedling than you would get from Whitfield Farms & Nursery!

Just returned from beautiful Orange Beach, AL where I attended the annual meeting of the AFA. The meeting was very well organized with very informative speakers. Kudos to the staff who organized and executed the meeting with excellence! The Perdido Beach Resort staff was also the tops! I would be amiss not to the mention the delicious food and great fellowship. I am thankful for the opportunity to meet many new friends and am already looking forward to next year.
However, it was not all fun and games. The vendor hall was full of men and women who were more than willing to talk about their products and services, including me! I had opportunity to speak to several foresters and landowners who, I hope, will consider purchasing their next seedlings from Whitfield Farms & Nursery. We still have longleaf seedlings available for this year’s planting. If you have not got your order in, please call us soon.

Last week we had the opportunity to attend the Florida Forestry Association’s annual meeting in beautiful Panama City. It was good to see many familiar faces and meet new many new friends. Thank you to the Association staff who did a good job of putting it all together. Looking forward to next year at Amelia Island!
Our seedlings are looking very good. We completed a test count this week and still have seedlings available to sell. We know you will be more than satisfied with the quality of the seedlings purchased from our nursery.
